Black Forest Labs is the frontier AI lab behind FLUX — one of the most widely adopted image model families in the world, founded by the original creators of Stable Diffusion and integrated by companies including Adobe, Canva, and Meta. When a lab at this level ships a new model, the launch video is the first thing millions of people see.

That was the brief for both engagements: make frontier research legible in under a minute. For FLUX.1 Kontext announcement in Adobe Photoshop — the model family that introduced in-context image generation and editing — the video had to show, not explain, what it means to edit an image with words right in your usual workspace.

For FLUX 2, the lab's most capable model to date, the launch video carried the flagship release of the year: multi-reference consistency, 4K generation, and production-grade editing, compressed into a story built for the feed.

Working with a research lab means working at research speed. Model capabilities evolve until the final days before launch, so production had to stay flexible — storyboards built around capability categories rather than fixed outputs, with final footage swapped in as the model itself improved.

Both videos launched on BFL's channels to a global developer and creative audience. Days after the FLUX 2 release, Black Forest Labs announced a $300 million Series B at a $3.25 billion valuation — a milestone moment for the lab, and for the launch that introduced the model to the world.
